Share An Opportunity (SAO)- Uganda is a Christian non-government organisation established in 1991. It exists to facilitate local communities in their endeavours to attain a wholisitic self-sustainanble development. SAO implements intergrated programs for child development and makes every effort to reach all vulnerable children in its operational areas located in Eastern and Central Uganda.

The Board of Governors
This is the supreme authority in the programs/projects managemnt.It sets and approves policies,working procedures and guidelines and oversees the whole performance of the programs and is composed of nine members. Their main role is to formulate policies to govern the effective operation of SAO Uganda and monitor compliance.
Where we work
SAO operates in 10 districts, implementing child projects and supporting community based development initiatives at sub county level. In central region SAO operates in districts namely; Buikwe, Luweero, Wakiso and Nakaseke, while in Eastern region; Mbale, Busia, Tororo, Manafwa, Bukedea and Kumi districts. The regional area office in central is in Kampala, at Kanyanya.
What we do
SAO's mandate of promoting the well being of vulnerable children is derived from its 2008- 2012 strategic plan and is in conformity with the provisions of Uganda National Orphans and Vulnerable Children's Policy and strategy. It implements integrated interventions in Livelihood, Basic Education, Early Childhood care, Development, Health, Child Protection and Participation and Institutional Capacity building.
Whom we work with
SAO works in partnership with other Child Agencies that share the same mandate such as Baptist World Aid Australia(BWAA), Redeen Kind (REK) Partnership of Overseas Network Trust (PONT), Mbale Coalition Against Poverty (M-CAP) and 16 CBOs namely; KIDO & ZIDA, KADA, WACIDA ACDOM, SIDA, NIDA, NGINCODEAS in central region and in Eastern; NAA, BNA, BUCODIN, OSADA, BUCIDO, AIDA, EMIABA, KOCDI & EMAIBA.
